Honduras – State to be reinstated to the OAS in June

Following a meeting with Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and former Honduran President Manuel Zelaya in Caracas on 16 April 2011, National Popular Resistance Front (FNRP) Deputy Coordinator Juan Barahona reported that Zelaya would return to Honduras sometime in May so that the country can be reinstated to the Organization of American States (OAS) at the General Assembly in June. Barahona said he presented Chávez with a list of demands for a return to constitutional order, including the return of exiles, respect for human rights, calling a national constituent assembly, and recognizing the FNRP as a legitimate political organization.
