Guatemala – Government to purchase three new radar stations

The Guatemalan General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) is in the process of purchasing three primary radar stations to detect illegal flights over national territory. The DGAC currently operates four secondary radar stations in Guatemala, but the only primary station capable of detecting covert flights, located at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City, covers only 28 percent of national territory with a radius of less than 100 kilometers.
