Honduras – Border authorities continue to search for two al-Qaida members

Border authorities in Honduras are searching for two members of al-Qaida following warnings from the United States that two Afghan nationals affiliated with al-Qaida were attempting to enter Honduras. The alert, first issued 1 April 2011 by the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa remains in effect, and informs authorities that Khalil Al-Rahman Haqqani and Said Jan Abd Al-Salan, both included on the United Nations al-Qaida Taliban Sanctions List, are planning to enter Honduras as well as other countries in the region.
